The Chiricahua Indians: A Concise History

Please join Bill Cavaliere, President, Cochise County Historical Society, for an ONLINE ONLY talk as part of our Friends of History Lecture Series.

The talk will include a summary of the history of the Chiricahua Apaches, covering their culture, origins, arrival in the American Southwest, conflicts with the Mexicans, New Mexicans, and Euroamericans, major battles, notable Chiefs and their ultimate surrender and captivity.

 Bill Cavaliere is President of the Cochise County (AZ) Historical Society and the former Sheriff of Hidalgo County, New Mexico, now retired. The presentation is drawn from his book, The Chiricahua Apaches: A Concise History.  He has also published several articles in Wild West Magazine and in historical journals.
