Tours by Museum Docents
Tours of exhibitions and the Palace of the Governors are offered on a regular basis and are free with admission. Experienced and knowledgeable docents lead each tour. For information about times and topics—or to arrange for a special group tour—contact the museum at (505) 476–5200.
Historic Downtown Walking Tours
Explore 400 years of history, culture, and architecture in the nation’s oldest capital city. From ancient Pueblos to the birth of the atomic age, museum-trained docents bring to life the true stories, colorful characters, and unique places that make Santa Fe “The City Different.”
The Historic Downtown Walking Tours is a program of Friends of History, a volunteer support group for the New Mexico History Museum.
The two-hour tours depart daily at 10:15 am, April through October, just outside the entrance to the New Mexico History Museum at 113 Lincoln Avenue.
The tour costs $15 for adults. Children, 16 years old and younger, can enjoy the tour for free. Tickets are on sale at the Spiegelberg Shop adjacent to the museum lobby. For more information about group reservations, scheduling a special tour, or becoming a Walking Tour docent, contact the tour manager at firstname.lastname@example.org
Groups of 10 or more people that make reservations with the museum at least 2 weeks in advance receive a discounted entrance fee of $8 per person. To make reservations call (505) 476–5200 or (505) 476–5087.
