The thoughtfulness and generosity of your support helps maintain a lasting legacy that can be enjoyed by generations of New Mexicans, as well as by the regional, national and international audiences who visit our museum. Help us do more to preserve our shared history and enhance the extent and quality of our collections, exhibitions, and services.
The New Mexico History Museum operates as a public-private partnership between the State of New Mexico and the Museum of New Mexico Foundation.
The State of New Mexico supports the museum with funding for facilities, museum staff, and operations, while funding for exhibitions, education, public programs, and other projects, come primarily from private donations and grants administered by the Museum of New Mexico Foundation.
Friends of History—a membership support group through the Museum of New Mexico Foundation—and our volunteers play critical roles in expanding the museum’s overall capacity.
Beyond contributions of time and money, the museum also depends heavily on donations of historic objects, documents, and photographs to build our permanent collections.
